About the Can't Wait Card

The Can't Wait Card is carried by members of NACC and CICRA, all of whom have Crohn's Disease or Ulcerative Colitis. These illnesses, which affect about 1 in 400 people in the UK, cause inflammation and ulceration in the intestines. One of the main symptoms is urgent diarrhoea which means people often need to use a toilet urgently. This can become a distressing and embarrassing problem that severely restricts everyday life.

NACC and CICRA provide members with the Can't Wait Card for situations where no public toilets are available. The Card confirms to staff in shops, garages, libraries etc that they have an urgent and genuine need to use the staff toilets in an emergency.
